Current Events Mark in your Day Timer, Get together with friends to Walk or Hike to SAVE OUR PARK! 4th ANNUAL 5K WALK AND 5 MILE HIKE TOSAVE OUR PARK! PRESENTED BY: EMBELLISH BOUTIQUE After three successful years, this non-competitive 5K walk will add a 5 mile hike to the event to benefit Woodland Lake Park. The event will again take place at the White Mountain Nature Center 425 S. Woodland Road in Lakeside, Arizona at 9:00 am on Saturday June 4, 2011. Tax deductible proceeds from the event will benefit “SAVE OUR PARK”, a diverse group of citizens, government, clubs, organizations, non-profits and media working together to secure the 583 acre Woodland Lake Park. Much has been accomplished in the last several years and the purchase of a portion of the park may soon become a reality. SAVE OUR PARK has played a leadership role in securing the park through financial contributions, strategies and public awareness. Participants in the event will have the opportunity to walk Woodland Lake Park, the White Mountain Nature Center and Big Springs on trails in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests while raising funds for Woodland Lake Park. In addition to a free t-shirt, walkers can chose between a 5K walk and a 5 mile hike. Walkers will also receive lunch, a concert featuring the band “Fat Chance” and an informational forum on environmental issues. Entry forms will be available beginning May 1, 2011. Entry fees are $25.00 (adults) $10.00 (students) until June 1, 2011 and $30.00 thereafter including the day of the event. Embellish Boutique has been named presenting sponsor.
